The EGYC Annual Regatta is a pursuit race. Every boat is assigned a specific starting time. Start times are assigned based on the boats rating (don’t worry if you don’t know your rating). In general the smaller (slower) boats start first and the larger (faster) boats start last. The boats sail around the course and finish together. It’s an exciting form of racing because in theory all boats should finish at the same time – which makes the mark roundings and finish very exciting!
